Top 5 Social Events of 2020
1. Carnival Day
On Carnival Day at The Charlotte, Members walked into a world of exploration and whimsy! Our team hosted a day of fun ‘under the big top’ with a lot of carnival themed events. There was a photo booth set up complete with props, a concession stand with all snow cones and popcorn! And of course, midway-style games for everyone to enjoy!
2. Independence Day Parade
In honor of Independence Day, Members at The Charlotte had a community parade to celebrate! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, keeping Members safe was a top priority. We invited team members, loved ones, and Members to decorate their cars. Our Members dressed in their most patriotic attire, grabbed flags, and signs before heading outside! Members sat alongside the community as local area residents, team members, and our loved ones drove their cars around!
3. Girl Scout Troop Visit
Here at The Charlotte, our J.O.Y (Joining Older and Younger) Program partnerships are an important social activity that our Members participate in. Throughout 2020, we welcomed a local Girl Scout Troop to visit with our Members in-person and through window visits each week! They bring their adorable dogs to meet Members during window visits. Each time they visited, they brought sweet notes and flowers for our Members to wish them well. We really loved when they decorated the front driveway with a school scene for everyone to enjoy!
4. Father’s Day
“A Father is someone you look up to, no matter how tall you grow.” The team at The Charlotte is grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our Members. Honoring the Fathers who reside in our community was important in 2020 especially. Each Member received a hat to make them feel extra special on Father’s Day!
5. Costume Therapy
The team at The Charlotte is dedicated to providing Members with a lifestyle full of joy. One thing that brightened the lives of our Members was the inclusion of costume therapy. Our team would dress up in the best costumes they could find and go room to room surprising our Members. The smiles tell it all, they tell a story of appreciation for our friends that have become family and happiness that is found within the walls of The Charlotte.
